Seeing STARS! Fall Trend Alert

Hello Fashion Readers,

Dolce and Gabbana’s Fall 2011 Fashion Show presented several star embellished looks. Since then it looks like there has been an explosion of stars in the galaxy of red carpets and magazine fashion shoots.

(keep reading below)

Celebrities have taken this trend by storm since spring and carried it over to Fall. Stars wearing stars have been seen on Kim Kardashian, Fergie, Lilly Allen, Jessica Alba, Khloe Kardashion and many others. Retailers are also taking note and stores like H&M, Macy’s, Sears, TopShop and Forever 21 who have added this hot trend to their collections.

Is this a trend you will add to your Fall repertoire? Perhaps you are not ready to wear stars from head to toe. So instead a belt or costume jewelry like a bracelet or necklace will add that touch you need. Another subtle way to add this pattern to your fall look would be in a scarf that you can wear or tie to your handbag as an option. Also, a clutch for evening would be another way to jazz up your style. In this case take it “One STAR at a Time”.

A peek at Fall 2011 SHOES!

It’s time to pay a special visit to one of the ladies favorite fascinations, SHOES. Fall previews are hitting the stores and magazines and of course shoes are no exception. So what are some of the hot soles hitting the pavement this upcoming season?

Well the runways for Fall 2011 were full of fur, big statement heels, metallics, patterns, animal prints, bright colors, 70’s inspired platforms, booties and lace up boots. From menswear inspired loafers, oxfords and flats to sexy lady like pumps. Off the runway my personal favorites were the Miu Miu collection with their curved heel. The options and incredible designs to chose from are endless. Some are extreme and high, others are embellished and whimsical. Here are some impressive right off the runway shoes and some that you will find in stores, now in fact. Fall is always an exciting time not only for ready to wear but also for accessories and shoes. Get ready for some bold and fabulous styles to come! What are your favorites styles for fall-winter.

Rihanna: The Glamorous Life!

Rihanna is not just the “Only Girl in the World” as her titled song, but also the most glamorous girl for the September issue of Glamour Magazine. This has to be one of my favorite photoshoots I’ve seen of Rihanna although she has had many great ones. She usually has fashion forward, edgy and provocative photographs. Here, it’s very high glam and filled with a very feminine and lady like vibe but still fun. She covers the magazine wearing a white top and sequin pants by Dolce & Gabanna and struts her way through the pages of the glossy in Marc Jacobs, YSL, Miu Miu, Vionett, Gucci, Givenchy and Christian Louboutin shoes. For more information on her interview with Glamour pick up the latest edition in newstands in August.

Rihanna on her Style: “Getting dressed, I want to pick the most bizarre pair of shorts so I can figure out how to make it look right, or work an outfit that will make people go, “What the hell is she wearing?”

Edit the Fashion in your closet!

It’s the weekend, its summer and a great time to open the windows and open those closets. The art of editing your closet is important, since you need to be able to keep the staples, and eliminate the pieces that aren’t functional. We all have items or garments that we keep because we plan to fit into later on. We keep things that are dated, are not practical, were trends at one point etc.

Take a good luck at what fits and what investment pieces you have right now. Keep those key pieces that take you from day to night or from one season to the next. Those transitional garments or accessories are vital, especially now. We are in the heart of summer but if you look around fall wear is making its way in many stores. Yes, the first peeks of fall Fashion 2011 is starting to make an appearance. Need some inspiration for your closets? Well, here are some beyond fabulous closets that are every Fashionista’s obsession. It’s organized, luxe and extraordinary.  However, whether your closet is narrow, small or large make sure it’s always a great representation of ‘your style’. As Mr. Tim Gunn from Project Runway says, “Make it Work!”

I say, Make it Work, One Style at a Time!
