A Sunny & Citrus Spring at NYFW S/S 2012

Spring/Summer 2012 collections have brightened up the runways in a big way this week. Several designers have chosen to clearly present bright and vibrant colors in their ready to wear designs. One color that has punctuated repeatedly is the sunny and vivid color yellow. Whether used in organza, silks, chiffon’s etc, one after another we see it revisited. From light pales yellow tones to a stronger chartreuse, you can bet your fashion dollar that yellow is here to stay for Spring ready to wear.  OHNE TITEL CAROLINA HERERRA MONIQUE LHUILLIER LELA ROSE CHISTIAN SIRIANO JILL STUART REBECCA MINKOFF

NYFW – Jason Wu S/S 2012 Collection

New York Fashion week is in high gear and one after another, designers are presenting interesting and eye-popping collections. One of the first collections that took my breath away and left a strong impression were the designs by Jason Wu. He introduced black and whites, floral prints, shimmery Swarovski encrusted collars, peplum skirts and wind breakers. The use of pop art seemed like a predominant inspiration while pink, yellow and blue were seen throughout many of the ladylike blouses, skirts and gowns. Here are just a few of the looks that has many fashionistas swooning over this collection for Spring/Summer 2012. Jason Wu reminds us here that edgy and feminine from day to evening with a splash of color, is just what is in store for next spring.

A musical FNO with Oscar de la Renta!

The much awaited Fashion Night Out arrived and the world of Fashion took the cities by storm around the world. New York City was a buzz with Celebrities, Fashion Designers and the who’s who of Fashion, making their rounds around stores from Soho to Madison Avenue. I had the privilege and honor to spend my evening with a man who I have admired for many years. In my fashion book he is a legend and a master of the art of Fashion Design and embodies class, elegance and so much talent. He is a world renown and highly respected for his amazing and glamorous collections year after year. This can be no other than Dominican born designer Oscar de la Renta.  He hosted his Fashion Night Out event at his Madison Avenue store with live music by a Mariachi Band. The night was filled with rounds of hors dourves and…

BCBGMAXAZRIA S/S 2012- New York Fashion Week

New York Fashion Week opened its doors today just a few hours away from Fashion Night out.  I attended the BCBGMaxAzria Spring/Summer 2012 show today at Lincoln Center. As soon as you arrive you couldn’t  help but notice everyone was in great spirits. Despite the heavy rain all morning in New York you couldn’t help but feel the great energy at the Theatre today. Everyone seemed so excited to kick off fashion week. From sightings of editors, publishers and many fashionistas (some wearing the FNO t-shirt) the buzz was just about to begin and it was palpable.  So once the runway was ready, the audience was seated and the lights were dimmed. The music by Hercules & Love Affair (My House, “Stopmakingme Remix”) started and here come the models…. The silhouettes were light and airy with bright and neutral tones. There were tribal prints dresses with embroidery and pleats. The…
