Fashion week continues to bloom in New York City and on the runway it seems so as well. There has been no shortage of garden parties and floral inspiration.
Take for example Diane von Furstenberg’s DVF show. It was an array of young and very famous models dolled up in 70’s designs from the Studio 54 era that Diane was very much a part of at one time. The makeup and bouncy curls were all part of the story as Diane recalls that is what her hair style was back in those days and now took life on the runway. No one does modern, sexy like DVF, don you agree? Now if you need a little sunshine in your life head on over to the Lela Rose show for next spring. Lela knows how to play with bright colors, sheer, floral appliques and how to present feminine beauty with a touch of whimsical.
Another classic favorite every NYFW is of course iconic designer Carolina Herrera. This time she was in a very “rose period” as she herself said, more minimalism than past seasons. Her collection’s backdrop, the Frick Museum which for the first time in history allowed a staged presentation in their venue. Anything for Carolina! Zac Posen is always a crowd favorite and fashionistas as well as celebrities always anticipate his stellar gowns. Although this time there weren’t any Sophia Vergara-like mermaid dresses, he still provided well tailored, pretty cocktail and day dresses in black and navy.
