Tis’ the Season of…the Trench Coat

April is right around the corner and we all have heard the poem, “April showers, bring May flowers”. So here comes that time of year when many of us Spring clean and find ourselves storing our ski jackets, wool coats, parkas etc. Now we need that transitional outerwear piece that we can turn to for the days ahead before summer. Why not invest in one of the most iconic and classic items in Fashion…the Trench coat.

The Trench coat was founded by Thomas Burberry in the early 20th century and has been considered a staple garment for decades. Not only is it functional but throughout the years it has been reinvented in so many ways. There is the classic knee length, short and full length, single breasted, double breasted and more. Pair this coat with a scarf, sunglasses, a pencil skirt and/or a pair of nice heels and you will look like a movie star straight off an old Hollywood movie. Burberry undeniably is the ringmaster of Trench coats. Alas, from Dior, Hermes, Gaultier to DKNY, London Fog, Guess & H&M, the price range and options today are numerous.
Here are some women that made this coat memorable from the silver screen and TV to the pages of magazines.
